Toolkit partnerondersteuning na seksueel geweld

Wat als je lief seksueel geweld heeft meegemaakt en je je lief wilt steunen? Zou je meer kennis willen krijgen over de impact van seksueel geweld? Zou je willen weten wanneer het handig is elkaar ruimte te geven of juist het gesprek aan te gaan?

In de toolkit Samen Helen – De reis van jullie leven geven we je handreikingen hoe jij en en je lief samen kunnen kijken naar het verwerken van een traumatische seksuele ervaring.

#MeToo gespreksetiquette

Eerder brachten we al de MeToo Gespreksetiquette uit. Hier geven we je handreikingen voor een gesprek waarin iemand vertelt over een ongewenste seksuele ervaring. Of het nu een gesprek is tussen vrienden, collega’s of tussen studenten en docenten, we geven je simpele tips, zodat jij als luisteraar op een passende manier kunt reageren.

Binnen of na een trauma verwerkingsproces is het ook prettig als je kunt kijken naar je wensen en gedachtes over intimiteit. Om hierover het gesprek met elkaar te voeren, hebben we een magazine uitgebracht, vol met oefeningen. We hopen dat het jou en jullie inspireert!

Organisaties

We hebben ook enkele organisaties in een overzicht opgenomen die kunnen helpen bij het verwerken van een trauma van seksueel geweld. Denk aan enkele landelijke organisaties zoals het Centrum Seksueel Geweld en de Politie. Maar ook enkele lokale Amsterdamse organisaties zoals Girls Forward.

Iedereen kent overlevers van seksueel geweld.

Ik, Legien Warsosemito, was op 16-jarige leeftijd slachtoffer van seksueel misbruik. Pas 20 jaar later durfde ik dit pijnlijke stuk uit mijn verleden voor het eerst te delen met mijn toenmalige partner, Stijn Schenk.

Samen zijn wij met een open hart en volle aandacht het helen aangegaan. We besloten destijds te streven naar een leven waarin wij andere slachtoffers van seksueel misbruik zouden kunnen helpen met hun traumaverwerking. Onze wens was om aan het groeiend geluk van anderen te werken.

Onze Toewijding

Ik, Legien, liet mij opleiden tot vertrouwenspersoon, coach en ervaringsdeskundige. Ook ging ik actief deelnemen aan congressen, workshops en trainingen op het gebied van seksueel geweld en traumaverwerking. Stijn koos ervoor om gebruik te maken van zijn liefde voor het beeldverhaal, om zo ingewikkelde materie met betrekking tot seksueel geweld beter begrijpbaar en voelbaar te maken.

We namen het ons voor om actief op te komen voor slachtoffers van seksueel geweld. Met onze professionele kwaliteiten, kennis en ervaring hopen wij andere slachtoffers van seksueel misbruik en hun omgeving op een waardevolle manier te ondersteunen en inspireren bij hun traumaverwerking.

Want wat als wij jou vertelden dat jij jouw ervaring met seksueel geweld niet langer hoeft te negeren — en dat jij jezelf op een plezierige, positieve wijze kunt leren ontwikkelen? Wij kennen de diverse gevolgen van seksueel misbruik uit zowel het perspectief van slachtoffer als levenspartner. En dat is hoe het project SAMEN HELEN is ontstaan.

SAMEN HELEN

In SAMEN HELEN bundelen wij met partners onze krachten, SAMEN HELEN is een project waar traumaverwerking centraal staat.

Ons doel is om samen in actie te komen tegen seksueel misbruik. Dit doen wij in de vorm van praktische steun voor slachtoffers van seksueel geweld, bijvoorbeeld met onze #MeTooGespreksEtiquette. Met de #MeTooGespreksEtiquette helpen wij, Legien en Stijn, de verschrikkelijke impact van seksueel misbruik te verzachten.

De #MeTooGespreksEtiquette maakt deel uit van onze toolkit die slachtoffers en hun omgeving bijstaan in het voeren van gesprekken over seksueel geweld. Zo zijn mensen uit de omgeving van een slachtoffer met de #MeTooGespreksEtiquette beter voorbereid om tactvol en ondersteunend gesprekken over seksueel misbruik te begeleiden. Met onze toolkit hoef jij je niet alleen voelen in de tocht naar traumaverwerking.

Praktische Steun

Naast onze beschikbare toolkit praten wij ook vrij over onze ervaringen rondom seksueel geweld en het vinden van steun bij traumaverwerking. Wij zijn beschikbaar voor lezingen, gesprekken, workshops, theater en geschreven lesmateriaal over seksueel misbruik en traumaverwerking. Deze zijn niet alleen bedoeld voor slachtoffers van seksueel geweld, maar ook voor jongeren, docenten en vertrouwenspersonen. Zo bieden wij praktische steun aan iedereen die direct of indirect met seksueel misbruik te maken heeft of heeft gehad.
